The Time Has Come...

Thank you to the many, many people who have sent tie clips and Skittles to USA Network and who have written to let us know.  You are awesome!  But we think the time has come to stop.

I think I've been procrastinating about this far too long;  that by writing this blog post, I am giving up on Criminal Intent.  Is that possible for any of us?

The powers that be have disassembled the set and sold all the props.  The actors have moved on.  We are so lucky to have had our Season 10.  Did you all notice how much lighter and brighter the production was?  We saw behind the scenes videos, interviews with the actors, a more expressive Goren and were treated to Twitter sessions with our beloved cast members.  Yes, we've been very lucky.
We know that Vincent has plans for a new television series, starring himself and Ethan Hawke, called Blue Tilt which we hope to see in production next year.  Chris Brancato, the show runner for S10 of Criminal Intent is also involved in Blue Tilt.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the Criminal Intent Binder Project and the Tie Clips and Skittles Campaign! Our blog started in protest with the Fluff Campaign (first suggested by Nantz) and we never stopped. This has been our hearts' work and we hope we made a difference.  Your support fuelled our fire and it's been the most amazing experience.

If you follow the cast, you can visit the following blogs for up-to-date information on Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe's current projects:

The Reel
Lovely Kathryn - by our own Antje who keeps us updated so well on Kathryn Erbe's public appearances.

(if you have a blog or page that you'd like to share with everyone, please add it by leaving a comment!)

Perhaps in a few years we'll get a Criminal Intent movie! In the meantime, see you at the reruns!

Without Criminal Intent,
Susan, Barbi, Antje, Hannah and Suzanne

We leave you with the following clip from Vincent and Kathryn.

Fluffalanche arrives in NYC!!!

Today a mountain of Fluff will be arriving at USA Network offices!

We're wondering if they've decided to move the filming to Chelsea Piers so they won't be inundated with Fluffy stuff which has oozed from Rockefeller Plaza....

Fluffalanche arrives in NYC. Dozens stare in shocked disbelief as mountains of fluff cover city.

"I couldn't believe it!" one bystander said. "It just rolled in...like a giant snowball. We had to wade through four feet of it just to get to the deli! Unreal!"
"Some of it's kinda sticky," observed a young boy as he reached down to put his small hands into a mound of the stuff. "It tastes like marshmallow candy, too!"

Authorities say schools are closed and businesses are shut down for the day due to heavy traffic snarls and downed power lines. Children and adults alike are taking advantage of the strange events. They are all flocking to Chelsea Piers with their hands and pockets full of the stuff. There is even a giant "fluffman" being erected down on the piers, though it bears a remarkable resemblence to a very famous actor. This reporter may have to brave the "fluff" and head on down to Chelsea Piers to check things out. Full report at eleven.

From On Location Vacations: Law and Order: Criminal Intent: I originally heard they would be filming on Staten Island but I also heard (from a very reliable source) that they would be filming at Chelsea Piers.

Thanks once again to Nantz for beginning the whole Fluff thang!

Thanks to OBC for the "news report"!

On Location Vactions spreading the Campaign News!

Law and Order: Criminal Intent Fans Want You To Bring Fluff To Their NYC Set
October 5, 2009 by Christine

Law and Order: Criminal Intent begins filming on October 16th and fans want anyone who plans on going to the set to bring Fluff- yes the marshmallow stuff.

The members of Criminal-Intent.us are shipping 10 cases of Marshmallow Fluff to USA Network in NYC, timed to arrive the day LO:CI starts shooting the final episode with Dets. Goren & Eames. The message: “Stuff the Fluff. No Goren & Eames = No LO:CI”.

The Fluff campaign was inspired by speculation in the press that the mass firings of LO:CI stars (except Jeff Goldblum) might have had something to do with the darkness of the Detective Goren character contrasted with the “lighter, fluffier” style of other original series at USA. The USA LO:CI Forum fans are asking anyone going to the October 16-November 6 shootings to bring a jar of Marshmallow Fluff in solidarity.

We should have some location information during that period if you are interested in participating, check back to onlocationvacations.com daily for more info!

How USA Network has Wronged Criminal Intent

Which one of these is not like the other? (Eames- “Brother's Keeper”)

Season 6 - NBC
Season 7 - USA
Season 8 - USA
Our Heroes in the Back?

How USA Network Has Wronged Law and Order: Criminal Intent
2007 – Season 7
When LOCI was moved from NBC to USA, we fans were worried. How would the move go? Would Vincent and Kathyrn be happy at USA? Our worries were calmed when we saw a massive promotional campaign for our show. Characters Welcome! Our heroes were being treated well. Vincent and Kathryn said “We're feeling the love.” All was well in LOCI – land. The ratings were great and USA Network was lauded for the successful transition. Chris Noth departed the show at the end of the season and Jeff Goldblum was signed up for the alternate eight episodes of Season 8.
2008 – Season 8
LOCI was delayed from Fall 2008 to Winter 2009 to Spring 2009. Most of the fans waited, but some gave up and moved on to other shows. During the break, there was blatant promotion of the new cast member, (Characters Welcome!) while the core cast that established the fan base and core viewership was virtually ignored. When the show finally aired in April 2009, it became apparent that the shows for the alternate team were changing the direction and tone of the show. To make matters worse, the Goren and Eames episodes were aired, not as written and filmed, but grossly out of order to the detriment of the terrific job Mr. D'Onofrio had done to show the recovery of Detective Robert Goren. For an excellent summary of how those episodes were supposed to air, go to:
http://criminalintentmusings.blogspot.com/2009/08/recovery-of-robert-goren-in-season-8.html

Because of the above mentioned USA Network errors, ratings were not as high, but LOCI still performed well and made millions of dollars for both USA Network and NBCU.
2009 – Season 9
It is rumored that our favorite actors who portray our adored characters, Goren and Eames, have been offered only half their current salaries for Season Nine. We don’t know for sure if that happened, but for Mr. D'Onofrio to walk away, it seems pretty likely. Vincent D'Onofrio is a TV detective icon and a template for a plethora of new shows. He deserves much better treatment than USA Network has given him, as does Ms. Erbe, who through the years has turned her character into a strong role model for all women via a first rate performance. But apparently, their characters are no longer welcome. They don't fit into the light and fluffy USA Network box. But we don't want Fluff! We want Goren and Eames! Let's tell everyone of our plight to save Goren and Eames!
The following is the Monday Hit list.

The Fluff Campaign

If USA Network thinks Criminal Intent is too serious for their viewers and are looking for lighter fare, then they have sadly underestimated the fans.

If they want fluff in their programming,

we’re sending them fluff.

The Fluff Campaign started with Nantz at the Vinnie Vidi Vici Blog (see link in sidebar) and has taken on a life of its own.

You can find it on Wikipedia:
“In response to news of the impending cast changes, on September 27, 2009, dedicated fans of the series united and launched a grassroots campaign to save departing cast members D'Onofrio, Erbe and Bogosian. Among the more traditional methods of letters, postcards, email and phone calls, the fans included sending jars of marshmallow fluff by the case to express their displeasure at the proposed change of tone for the series to a lighter venue.”

Tell USA/NBCU that we want well-scripted and acted programs. We want our Goren and Eames for another full 8 episodes. USA's byline is Characters Welcome. Well they've just dumped the most fabulous character I've ever had the joy to watch. It seems USA only wants Fluffy Characters. So.....

Send your Fluff (cotton balls, Marshmallow fluff*) to:
Jean Guerin
Senior Vice President, Communications
USA Network
30 Rockefeller Plaza
Floor 21
New York, NY
10112

*With your note to USA, we suggest you end with a comment like - please send excess Fluff to the nearest foodbank.

As part of the Fluff Campaign an anonymous donor on the Criminal-Intent.us forum is mailing 10 cases of Marshmallow Fluff to USA offices.

Want to know where you can buy fluff?
here are a few places....
1) At Amazon.com

2) http://www.marshmallowfluff.com/pages/homepage.html
will send three-packs anywhere for $14 (inc. shipping) and persons can pay by check or credit card.

also Thanks to Chrissy for this link

3) People can buy Fluff by the case and there is NO shipping fee, which is excellent considering the weight of those containers. There is a flat handling fee of $4.99 per order, so I ordered 3 cases and only paid the price of the product plus the $4.99 flat. There was also NO SALES TAX stuck on my order (going from Maryland to Jean Guerin in New York).

Each case is only $27.48, which is less than Amazon, I believe.

http://www.buythecase.net/brand/Fluff/?kwmid=3366290&kmcid=2116618214&match_type=&gclid=CIfE9Y2enJ0CFUdM5QodLVRm2Q
Chrissy was able to purchase more than she had originally expected from the money she saved on shipping.
4) from VinneVidiVici
a case of Fluff for $23.13, no tax, shipping included, ships within 3 days, VA adds sales tax
